Mario Forever is a free clone of the well-known Super Mario Bros game. It stays true to the original story but comes with improved graphics and additional features. The story takes place in the Mushroom Kingdom, which has been invaded by the evil Bowser and his gang, the Koopa Troopas. Because Bowser kidnapped Princess Peach, Mario now must travel through 8 worlds to rescue the princess and save the kingdom.

Mario Forever Gameplay

In this game, you will play as the hero, Mario. As mentioned above, you must rescue Princess Peach and save the kingdom. The game is a side-scrolling jump-and-run game. On your way, you need to survive the attacks of your enemies, the Goombas and Koopa Troopas, and collect coins, shatter bricks, and gather special abilities. The special abilities come in the form of Super Mushrooms and extend your life and present you with extra skills. This includes that you will grow to twice your original size and can therefore move faster.

Defeating your enemies is not an easy task since you can only run and jump. An efficient way to take down several enemies at once is to jump on a Koopa Troopa. It will retreat into its shell and can be pushed to hit other enemies. One more strategy you can use is the “Fire Flower” ability. It’s a rare power that comes from the floating crates. Once you obtain it, you can throw fireballs at your enemies.

You’ll have to use all of your abilities to get through the game’s eight worlds. The 8th and final world is where you will find King Bowser and Princess Peach. Don’t be fooled if you come across a Bowser before reaching the final world. Those are fake Bowsers that the real Bowser put in each world. But both the real and the fake Bowsers can be defeated by jumping over them and taking the ax at the end of the bridge.

Additional Features

Mario Forever is not just a clone of the original game. This fangame comes with additional features such as extra levels and additional skills. The Cabbage ability allows him to run faster and jump higher, while the Beetroot power allows him to throw a root towards his enemies.
